Guide: Completing Canker Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest “Canker” becomes accessible early in the game, contingent upon completing “The Jaunt.” This quest is a great opportunity to acquire a mace or some extra Groschen, so let’s dive into how you can complete it step-by-step.

Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To initiate the “Canker” side quest, head to Semine and have a chat with Gules. An ideal time to pick up this quest is during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes, where you can find Gules drinking beforehand. However, you can also start the quest earlier by visiting Semine and talking to Gules while he's on patrol. Simply ask him about his former band of bandits and offer your assistance in eliminating them. Canker, a former member of this group, becomes your first target.

Find and Kill Canker

Once you accept the quest, Canker's location will be marked on your map, north of Nebakov Mill. Be prepared for potential ambushes by bandits along the way. You can choose to sneak past them, engage in combat, or simply outrun them. These random encounters shouldn't be too challenging, but be mindful of conserving your health for the upcoming fight.

Canker's camp is nestled in the mountains, and it's easy to overlook because you must navigate through a narrow gap to reach it, reminiscent of the approach to the Hermit’s house during the “Wedding Crashers” quest. Before entering, make sure you're ready for combat, as you'll face several bandits alongside Canker.

In the battle, some bandits might flee depending on the order in which you take them down. However, it's crucial to eliminate most of them, so don't assume you can skip any fights. Thankfully, Canker won’t run away, ensuring you can complete your objective by killing him.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and his companions, loot his body to find the Light Mace, which you need as proof of your deed. Feel free to take any additional items that catch your eye. Once you have the mace, return to Gules to officially complete the “Canker” quest.

Following the completion of “Canker,” you’ll need to wait a full in-game day before you can continue with the next quest related to Gules’ old bandit buddies. Once the day has passed, speak with Gules again to pick up the quest “Handsome Charlie.”
