Where To Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Following the March 2025 update, you can discover Essence Stones within chests scattered throughout the mines of *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter with these stones came while searching for items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but rest assured, these chests can appear on any level across various biomes and floors. Be cautious, though, as mimic enemies disguised as chests can pose a threat if you're not careful.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. While the smaller stones are more common, diligent exploration can lead you to the larger, more valuable deposits. If you're struggling to find them naturally, consider crafting them after constructing the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How To Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

To craft Essence Stones, you'll need to visit the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*, a new feature introduced with the March 2025 update. This refinery is part of a new story quest where, alongside Adeline, Olric, and Errol, you'll build it from scratch within the mines after completing necessary prerequisites.

To construct the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials required varies by stone size, as outlined in the table below:

In addition to Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery enables you to craft a variety of common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond. This makes it an invaluable resource hub for your crafting needs in *Fields of Mistria*.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update also introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics, both of which rely on Essence Stones to function. Larger stones provide a longer-lasting charge, making Large Essence Stones particularly beneficial for extended use.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue automatically pets all animals inside daily, provided an Essence Stone is in use. You can find this statue in a hidden cave near Errol's house in the Narrows, accessible with the Dragon's Breath spell. Additional statues can be crafted once you've unlocked the item.

For the sprinkler mechanic, the Water Sprite Statue comes into play. Place this statue anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more statues as needed, and you'll find the original along with a crafting scroll on an island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse area. Use Dragon's Breath to access the entrance.
