"Lanterns" is shaping up to be a gripping detective drama, drawing inspiration from acclaimed series like "True Detective" and "Slow Horses." The narrative will follow Chandler's Hal Jordan and Pierre's John Stewart as they collaborate to unravel a murder mystery that promises to delve into even darker realms. This series is set within James Gunn's expansive DC universe, which also includes projects like "Creature Commando," "Superman," and "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow."

The creative team behind "Lanterns" boasts impressive credentials, with Damon Lindelof, known for his work on "Lost," joining forces with Chris Mundy and Tom King. James Gunn has teased that the show will adopt a darker, more grounded tone, stating, "It's very believable, very real. The kind of things that you would never think that would be the truth about a Green Lanterns television series."

Kyle Chandler, renowned for his role in "Friday Night Lights," brings a seasoned edge to the character of Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre, who gained recognition for his performance in "Rebel Ridge," steps into the shoes of John Stewart. Fans can mark their calendars for a 2026 premiere, aligning with the release of the "Supergirl" movie, promising an exciting year for DC enthusiasts.
