Leak: Ubisoft is developing Rainbow Six Siege 2 with improved graphics

According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is poised to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled to take place at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an upgraded engine, promising enhanced graphics with revamped textures and models. Additionally, Ubisoft may shift away from the old temporary events of the original game, opting instead to introduce fresh events. The anticipated release window for Rainbow Six Siege 2 is set for the second season of the tenth year of support, around mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, had expressed that a full sequel was unnecessary due to the ongoing development of the current game. However, if the leak turns out to be accurate, it appears Ubisoft might have reconsidered their stance.

It's important to approach such rumors with caution. Without an official statement from Ubisoft, all this remains speculative.

The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, known as the Six Invitational 2025, is fast approaching. Set in Boston, twenty teams will vie for a share of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having clinched the North American Last Chance Qualifier, rounds out the field as the final team to qualify.

The tournament format with twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft is expected to maintain last year's structure—four groups with a round-robin format among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—there's potential for a surprise twist in the format.

In this setup, the first place in each group skips the first round, the fourth place starts in the lower bracket, the remaining teams enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last place team from each group is eliminated.
