LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has shared exciting news about the company's future, revealing plans to broaden its footprint in the digital realm through the development of video games. This strategy encompasses crafting games both in-house and in collaboration with other developers.
"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing." - Niels Christiansen
This expansion into gaming does not mean LEGO will cease licensing its brand to external developers. Just last month, journalist Jason Schreier reported that TT Games, renowned for their LEGO-themed games, is currently developing a new LEGO title, possibly linked to one of Warner Bros.' franchises.

Currently, LEGO's most notable venture in gaming is its ongoing partnership with Epic Games. Last year, Fortnite introduced a LEGO-themed mode that rapidly became one of the game's most beloved features.
Additionally, LEGO has been a staple in the adventure game genre, thanks to TT Games' efforts over the past two decades. Although recent projects from the studio have been relatively quiet, rumors are circulating about a new LEGO Harry Potter game, inspired by the commercial success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Further demonstrating LEGO's versatility in the gaming industry, the company partnered with 2K Games to launch LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game that hit the market last year.
