Madden NFL 26 Set for Release on Nintendo Switch 2, Skips PS4 and Xbox One

by Nicholas May 28,2025

Electronic Arts has officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated Madden NFL 26, marking the series' full transition to the current-generation consoles. Set to launch on August 14, 2025, Madden NFL 26 will offer a three-day early access period beginning August 11 exclusively for Deluxe Edition pre-orders. The game will be available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC via the EA app for Windows, Steam, and the newly supported Nintendo Switch 2.

This marks the first time the Madden series will appear on Nintendo's hybrid handheld console, while simultaneously bidding farewell to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Neither of the previous-generation consoles will support Madden NFL 26, solidifying the series' commitment to the PS5 and Xbox Series era.

PlayMultiple pre-order options are available, offering fans various incentives. For players who own Madden NFL 25, 24, or 23, a loyalty discount provides 10% off along with a 99 OVR Player Pack for Madden NFL 25 Ultimate Team. Additionally, the MVP Bundle combines the Deluxe Editions of Madden NFL 26 and College Football 26 into a single package. Below are the bonuses included with the Deluxe Edition of Madden NFL 26:
