Ahmed Alameen, a talented writer and filmmaker, is set to launch his first point-and-click adventure game, My Father Lied, on May 30th. This narrative-driven puzzle game draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Mesopotamian history, promising players an immersive experience filled with mystery and intrigue.
In My Father Lied, you step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman on a quest to uncover the truth behind her father's disappearance, which occurred twenty years ago. The plot thickens when Huda discovers she has a brother she never knew about, prompting her to delve deeper into her father's mysterious past.
Originally, Alameen embarked on this project with a college classmate, where he served as the narrative designer. However, after the team disbanded, Alameen took it upon himself to learn game design and complete the project solo. His dedication has resulted in a game that blends point-and-click mechanics with puzzle-solving, allowing players to piece together images, crack codes, and explore hauntingly beautiful environments.
Alameen's creative approach to the game's visuals sets My Father Lied apart. Instead of meticulously modeling every detail, he utilized a mix of 2D and 360-degree images, including frame-by-frame cutscenes. This method not only delivers high-quality visuals but also ensures the game can run smoothly on low-end PCs.
My Father Lied will be available on the App Store, Google Play, and for PC via Steam for $10.99/€10.99. You can add it to your Steam Wishlist now, though mobile pre-registration is not yet available. To stay updated on the game's progress and learn more, follow Lunar Games on X, Discord, TikTok, or Instagram. Additionally, keep an eye out for the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, which promises to bring even more excitement to this intriguing project.
