Crafting a Shield

Surprisingly, some players overlook this essential item. Initially absent from Minecraft, the shield is now easily crafted. You'll need:

• 6 Wooden Planks (easily made from logs)
• 1 Iron Ingot (obtained by mining iron ore and smelting it)

Arrange the planks in a "Y" shape within the crafting grid, placing the iron ingot in the top-center slot. And there you have it – your steadfast protector!

Finding a Shield

While crafting is an option, shields can also be found. Ironically, you'll need to battle pillagers (without a shield, initially) to obtain one. The reward? A banner to customize your shield and make it truly unique.
