Dogs have long been celebrated as the most loyal companions in video games, and *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is no exception. Mutt, Henry's faithful dog, disappears early in the game's narrative, but finding him is an adventure in itself. Here’s a detailed guide on how to locate Mutt in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mutt Location

While there's a side quest dedicated to finding Mutt, you can bypass the extra steps and head straight to his location. Mutt can be found near a wolf cave southwest of the Nomads’ Camp and just east of the bathing spot at the river. A screenshot below marks the exact spot.

The most efficient way to reach Mutt is by fast traveling to the Nomads’ Camp and then heading southwest into the forest. Following the path will lead you directly above the cave. As you draw near, listen for Mutt's whines, which will guide you to a clearing near the cave where Mutt and some wolves await.

Approaching this area will trigger a cutscene introducing you to Mutt and the wolves, along with a tutorial on how to command Mutt in combat. You'll then have the choice to either fight the wolves or escape. Given that wolves and other wild animals are relatively easy to defeat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, engaging in combat can be a beneficial way to enhance your skills.

After handling the wolves, Mutt will become your loyal companion. You can interact with him by holding L1, which allows you to feed him or send him back home.

Finding Mutt During the Invaders Side Quest

It's worth noting that you might encounter the wolf cave naturally during the Invaders side quest, especially if you engage with the Cumans. After getting drunk with them, Henry follows Vasko uphill to fetch more liquor, leading directly to the cave. This triggers the same cutscene with Mutt and the wolves, but you'll have to manage the situation while intoxicated.

For the best outcome, it's advisable to rescue Mutt during the day before proceeding with the Invaders quest. Tackling the wolves while drunk and in the dark adds unnecessary difficulty and increases the risk of fatal accidents, such as falling off a cliff.

And that’s how you can find Mutt in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. For more tips and information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
