Looks and functions like new. Minor packaging damage noted during inspection.
Sony's PS Portal handheld gaming accessory for PS5 resembles an extended DualSense controller with an integrated 8-inch 1080p LCD screen. It streams PS5 games at up to 60fps, mirroring DualSense features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. A touchscreen replaces the DualSense touchpad. While previously requiring a PS5 and a strong, stable internet connection for remote play, a recent update allows streaming directly from PlayStation Now, eliminating the PS5 requirement. Access to over 120 games is available via the highest tier PlayStation Plus subscription ($18/month).
It's important to note that the PS Portal isn't the only option for PS5 remote play. The PS Remote Play app on mobile devices, including handhelds like the Steam Deck, offers similar functionality, though setup is more complex and some DualSense features may be lost.
"The PlayStation Portal surprisingly exceeded my expectations. It's a far superior experience to using a phone with an attached controller and performed better than anticipated. I appreciate the freedom to play my PS5 anywhere with decent Wi-Fi, especially when other family members are using the TV. While not a standalone device (requiring a PS5), its current limitations—lack of browser-based Wi-Fi login and Bluetooth audio support—prevent it from being truly exceptional. Despite these drawbacks, it's the best current solution for PlayStation Remote Play."
Sony PS5 DualSense Controller$79.99 $54.00 at Lenovo (Use code 'PLAY5')
Available in Sterling Silver, Volcanic Red, and Cobalt Blue. Free shipping included.
Lenovo's sale offers DualSense controllers at a price even lower than Black Friday deals. This is likely the last opportunity for this price point, especially for the metallic colorways.
