The Sims franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a bang, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled an exciting roadmap, it seems the surprises aren't over yet. A recent teaser from The Sims, brimming with references to the first two games, has ignited a firestorm of speculation among fans. Could a return of these classic titles be on the horizon?
While there's no official confirmation, Kotaku sources suggest a potential digital PC release of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs, by the end of the week from EA and Maxis Games.
However, the burning question remains: will a console release follow? And if so, when? Given the potent nostalgia factor and potential for significant profits, it seems highly unlikely EA would overlook this opportunity.
The Sims 1 and 2 are relics of a bygone era, with extremely limited legal avenues for modern players to experience them. Their return would undoubtedly be a joyous occasion for countless fans.
