Sims 4 Blast from the Past: Unraveling Historical Displays

by Ellie Feb 22,2025

Week 2 of The Sims 4's Blast from the Past event presents a puzzling challenge: studying a Historical Display. This guide clarifies how to complete this seemingly simple task, and addresses common issues players are encountering.

A museum in The Sims 4 showcasing a historical display.

Locating a Historical Display

The Week 2 quest requires interaction with a Historical Display, found within museums. While experienced players likely know their local museum's location, newcomers should consult their in-game map, searching for the pillar icon. The Municipal Museum in Willow Creek and The Future's Past in Oasis Springs are conveniently located near other event tasks.

Completing the Quest

Upon entering a museum, locate a painting or sculpture (both qualify as Historical Displays). Click on the chosen item and select "View." Successful completion is confirmed by the appearance of the Emit icon.

Troubleshooting Common Problems

Many players report difficulties with the "View" option, often linked to mods. If the button is unresponsive, consider temporarily disabling mods to see if this resolves the issue. If the problem persists, attempting to interact with multiple displays in different museums may be necessary. Hopefully, EA will address this reported bug soon.
