Squad Busters Set for Major Rework and Overhaul

by Peyton May 20,2025

Since its initial release in 2024, Supercell has placed high hopes on Squad Busters. This unique blend of merge, upgrade, and MOBA elements has experienced fluctuating popularity. However, a significant gameplay overhaul set to launch on its first anniversary, May 13th, promises to revitalize the game!

The core of this update revolves around a major shift in game balance. Instead of solely depending on your squaddies, you'll now select a hero to lead them. These heroes, such as the Barbarian King and Archer Queen, come with unique and potent abilities, adding a new layer of strategy to your gameplay.

Another pivotal change is the ability to fight on the move. Gone are the days of stopping your squad to attack; Squad Busters is now set to become even more dynamic, allowing you to utilize both your key heroes and squaddies' abilities while in motion. Don't worry though—halting your squad is still an option if you want to execute attacks more swiftly, ensuring your muscle memory doesn't hinder your gameplay.

Squad up!Heroes are not just leaders but also vital to your squad's survival and progression. If your hero falls, your game ends, regardless of the number of squaddies you have.

This overhaul represents a significant departure from Squad Busters' original gameplay mechanics, essentially reinventing the foundation of this Supercell crossover. The community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many eager to see the impact of these changes and optimistic about a renewed interest in the game.
