The global version of *Romancing SaGa Re:universe* is set to conclude its journey, with the end of service scheduled for December 2nd, 2024. Is this a surprise or was it expected? You be the judge. Meanwhile, fans in Japan can rest easy knowing their version will continue to run smoothly.
As previously announced, the game will shut down in December. The sale of items requiring paid jewels, along with Google Play Points exchanges, ceased following the last maintenance on September 29th, 2024.
Launched globally in June 2020, *Romancing SaGa Re:universe* has had a four-year run filled with ups and downs. Despite its stunning visuals, robust sound design, and a generous gacha system, the game garnered mixed reviews from the global audience.
In contrast to the well-received Japanese version, the global release struggled to capture the same level of enthusiasm. It notably lacked key content such as the Solistia storyline and character enhancements like 6-star units, which were introduced in Japan nearly a year ago. This gap in content likely contributed to the game's eventual fate.
Square Enix, the developers behind *Romancing SaGa Re:universe*, have already closed several titles this year, including *Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius* and two *Dragon Quest* mobile games. Now, the global version of *Romancing SaGa Re:universe* joins the list.
Rooted in the classic SaGa series, *Romancing SaGa Re:universe* offers a traditional turn-based RPG experience. With only two months left until the end of service, now is the time to dive in if you're interested. You can still find it on the Google Play Store for a final playthrough.
