Oscar Isaac's Star Wars Celebration 2025 Appearance Fuels Poe Dameron Return Speculation

Sequel Trilogy star Oscar Isaac's confirmed appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo (April 18-20) has ignited fan speculation about a potential return of his character, Poe Dameron. The announcement, made via the official Star Wars Celebration Instagram, follows Daisy Ridley's 2023 Celebration appearance, where she announced her involvement in a new Star Wars film.

Isaac's past comments regarding a Star Wars return have been varied. Initially expressing reluctance, he later indicated openness to the possibility, stating in 2022 that he had "no real feeling one way or another." This shift in attitude, coupled with his past criticism of Disney's handling of the Sequel Trilogy (specifically, the rejection of a Poe/Finn romance), adds intrigue to his upcoming Celebration appearance.

The speculation intensifies given the context of the upcoming Rey film, set approximately 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker. With Ridley already expressing a desire for John Boyega's return, the possibility of reuniting the Sequel Trilogy's main trio – Rey, Finn, and Poe – is a strong contender.

While Star Wars Celebration 2025 might offer clues, the release of the Rey film, directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, remains uncertain due to Disney's repeated delays of several announced Star Wars projects. The earliest projected release date is now December 17, 2027. Until then, fans will eagerly await further developments.
