Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!

Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown even before completing a year, but it will still get to celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain call. The question remains: Is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game that's on its last legs?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5. Zynga, the developer and publisher, is set to release a final content update on that date, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. In-game purchases will be disabled starting April 15th as well.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. Players with unspent Crystals should use them before the shutdown, as no refunds will be issued.

It Isn’t Shocking

The closure of Star Wars: Hunters may not come as a surprise to many. The game faced multiple delays since its announcement in 2020, and beta tests were limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions. The lack of major console support and a lukewarm reception contributed to its downfall.

In terms of design, the game missed an opportunity to capitalize on the iconic Star Wars characters, opting instead for generic original characters. This choice may have alienated fans expecting to see familiar faces from the galaxy far, far away.

If you've uninstalled the game but want to take one last ride, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
