If you've chosen to play as an Archer in Rune Slayer, you've selected one of the game's most formidable classes. This guide will help you optimize your Archer build to reach peak performance as a sharpshooting adventurer. Let's dive into the best Archer Build in Rune Slayer.

If you're a seasoned archer, you can skip this section, but if you're new to the class, read on. The most effective way to play as an Archer is to maintain a safe distance from enemies and let your arrows do the work. While Archers can deal substantial damage, they are not built to withstand it.

Archers wear Medium armor, which is more protective than Light armor but less than Heavy armor. Unlike Light armor users like Magicians or Priests, Archers lack protective spells or heavy armor. Instead, they rely on allies and, crucially, their Pets to absorb damage.
Tamed Pets are essential for Archers. Initially, your pet options are limited, but Archers can eventually access a wider range of pets than other classes, which significantly boosts their power in the game.
At Level 30, Archers, like all other classes in Rune Slayer, can choose a subclass. Opt for Beast Tamer as soon as you reach this level.

Currently, there's no compelling reason to choose Sharpshooter. While the idea of firing multiple arrows at once is appealing, it pales in comparison to the Beast Tamer's Alpha Predator passive ability, which allows you to tame unique beasts such as Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and notably, Mud Crabs. Beast Tamers are so resilient and powerful that they can even tackle many group activities solo.
Here are the best armor sets and weapons for Archers in Rune Slayer at different stages of the game.

As you approach max level, the Elder set is an excellent starting point, complemented by other items. The best early weapon is the Troll Tusk Bow, which can drop from the Hill Troll.

You can craft the entire set using parts from the Elder Treant raid boss. Don't be intimidated by its size; gather a group or join a Discord guild to tackle this giant tree. As an Archer, you should have no trouble dealing damage and surviving, especially with a strong Beast Tamer pet.

Once you reach max level and aim to optimize your Archer, join the Demon Sect. Start by killing players from the opposing faction to increase your standing with the demon overlords, which will allow you to acquire the Stalker armor set. You'll need to save a significant amount of in-game currency. The rest of your armor is relatively easy to obtain.

While working on this, also take on the Amphitheres in Greatwood Forest, as they have a small chance of dropping Vermilion, the best bow currently available in Rune Slayer.
**Weapon Name** | **Stats** | **Requirements** |
Vermilion | Physical Damage: 13 +8 Spirit +26 Agility +2% Crit Chance On Crit hits, unleash a storm of fire arrows that damage a small radius around your target. | A random loot drop from the Amphitheres |
