While the planned live-action Driver series has been canceled, Ubisoft assures fans that other Driver projects are actively in development. Read on for the details.
Live-Action ‘Driver’ Series Canceled

Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File that the planned live-action adaptation of its acclaimed Driver franchise is no longer in production. Initially announced in 2021, the series was slated for exclusive streaming on Binge.com. Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik stated at the time that the project was part of Ubisoft's broader initiative "to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming."
However, the partnership with Binge ended due to the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary named after the Driver protagonist, in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed to Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."
Despite this setback, Ubisoft has reassured fans that they are "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise" and look forward to sharing more information in the future. Specific details regarding these projects remain undisclosed, but fans can expect further Driver announcements soon.
