Warriors: Abyss Launches as Roguelite Expansion

Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another musou title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the genre. This roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors franchise, is available now.

Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad and battle through hordes of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the style of Diablo and the roguelite Hades.

Gameplay footage revealed teams battling hellish forces and demonic adversaries. Featured characters included Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, representing a diverse roster from across the Warriors series.

According to the PlayStation Blog, characters can be recruited and added to your team, unlocking unique summoning abilities. Battles utilize up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.

Koei Tecmo plans post-launch character additions, starting with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are teased, hinting at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors series.

Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players seeking the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
