The ERG app is a powerful digital companion, built on the most current edition of the guidebook, enabling emergency personnel to instantly access vital information in the field. With an easy-to-navigate interface, the app includes an indexed database of hazardous materials, listing each substance by ID number, along with its general risks, potential health hazards, and specific protective actions recommended during an emergency.

In real-world situations—such as responding to an overturned tractor-trailer displaying a DOT hazardous materials placard—first responders can use the app to rapidly identify the involved substance by referencing the placard number. The app then delivers immediate response recommendations, including evacuation distances, firefighting methods, and spill control procedures, empowering responders to act swiftly and safely.
