Applin and Dynamax Entei to Debut in Pokémon Go This Month

by Brooklyn May 05,2025

Two exciting Pokémon from the Galar region are making their debut in Pokémon Go this month, catering to fans of both adorable and powerful creatures. The Sweet Discoveries event, running from April 24th to 29th, introduces the charming Dragon/Grass-type Applin. To evolve Applin, you'll need 200 Applin Candy and 20 apples. Use Tart Apples to evolve into Flapple, or Sweet Apples for Appletun. These apples can be found in the wild, especially around Mossy Lures, and may trigger Applin encounters.

During the Sweet Discoveries event, expect to see wild spawns like Bounsweet, Skwovet, and Delibird. Field Research and Eggs will offer more opportunities to catch themed Pokémon such as Munchlax and Cherubi. You can also acquire Sweet and Tart Apples through Timed Research, available in both free and paid versions. The paid option provides additional Mossy Lure Modules and extra Applin encounters.

ytDon't miss out on the Applin Headband and Apron available in the shop, and keep an eye on PokéStop Showcases for themed Pokémon. For those who prefer a fiery challenge, mark your calendars for the Max Battle Weekend from April 26th to 27th, where Dynamax Entei will make its debut. You might even encounter a Shiny version if luck is on your side.

To prepare for these events, take advantage of the following bonuses: an increased Max Particle cap, reduced adventuring distance to collect them, and boosted Power Spot refresh rates. You'll also earn eight times more Max Particles from each Power Spot you visit. Leading up to the event, free Timed Research starts on April 21st, and completing it will reward you with a Dynamax Sobble, perfect for balancing your team against Entei's fiery presence.

To stock up for both events, visit the Pokémon Go Web Store and don't forget to check out the list of redeemable Pokémon Go codes.
