Atomfall Shows Off Gameplay Ahead of March Release

Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Reveals Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at the game's mechanics and setting. Fans of Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements in Atomfall's exploration of quarantined zones, dilapidated villages, and abandoned research facilities. Survival hinges on resource scavenging, crafting, and combat against hostile robots and cultists.

The trailer highlights a blend of melee and ranged combat. While the showcased weaponry – a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle – appears initially limited, the game promises weapon upgrades and a wider arsenal to discover. Crafting plays a crucial role, allowing players to create healing items and combat tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Skill progression is also featured, with unlockable abilities categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.

Initially unveiled during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall, while perhaps overshadowed by other major announcements, generated significant interest due to its day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass. The March 27th release date for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms is fast approaching. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so fans should stay tuned to their social media channels for updates.
