While The Witcher 3 is widely celebrated, it wasn't a perfect action RPG. Many dedicated players felt its combat system had significant room for improvement.

In a recent discussion, The Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, highlighted gameplay and monster hunting as key areas targeted for major enhancements.

“Our focus is on refining the gameplay and the monster hunting experience.”

Kalemba noted that the trailer for The Witcher 4 aims to showcase the intense, powerful feel of battling monsters, emphasizing both the combat choreography and the emotional weight.

A comprehensive combat overhaul is anticipated for The Witcher 4. It's reassuring for fans that CD Projekt Red clearly understands which aspects need the most development compared to earlier titles. These upgrades are also expected to carry over into future games, especially with Ciri set to lead the new trilogy.

Additionally, developers originally planned to feature Triss's wedding in the game. The Witcher 3 was set to include the "Ashen Marriage" quest in Novigrad, where Triss grows fond of Castello and wishes to marry him quickly. In this storyline, Geralt helps prepare for the ceremony by clearing monsters from the canals, securing alcohol, and picking out a wedding gift.
