Enhancing your character's strength in Dynasty Warriors: Origins can be achieved through various methods, one of which involves the use of Gems. These Gems provide passive buffs that can significantly aid you, especially when tackling higher difficulty levels. You have the option to craft new gems and level up existing ones, although the process can seem somewhat random. Below, we'll explore how to craft and utilize gems, as well as tips on increasing your chances of crafting the specific gem you desire.

How To Craft & Level Up Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Gem crafting in Dynasty Warriors: Origins utilizes Pyroxene and can be performed at any Inn or tent within the game. When you're in your room, select the second option from the top labeled "Create Gems". Here, you can use as many Pyroxenes as you wish to craft gems at a one-to-one ratio. There's a set selection of gems available for crafting, and each Pyroxene you use has the potential to craft any of the five gems.

Once you've crafted a base gem, it starts at level 1 and can be equipped via the Battle Preparations menu. Subsequent crafts of the same gem type will contribute XP towards the base gem, enhancing its level and effectiveness with each upgrade. If you're not particular about the type of gem, using all your Pyroxene at once to craft numerous gems can be a good strategy, as it will randomly level up your gems across the board.

However, if you're after specific gems, you might want to craft one gem at a time. This approach increases the chance of triggering the "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" effect, which randomly selects three gems to focus on for crafting with all used Pyroxene. You can cancel this effect by exiting and re-entering the gem crafting menu. While crafting one gem at a time can be time-consuming, it's a method you might employ to hone in on the gem you want.

The "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" feature helps to mitigate some of the randomness in gem crafting, though it doesn't eliminate it entirely.

Here are the five gems you can craft along with their passive boosts:

Gem NamePassive Boost
Oblivion GemExpands attack range.
Vortex GemBoosts damage to enemies launched into the air.
Scorch GemBoosts damage dealt to enemies with parries.
Wellspring GemRestores health for every 100 enemies defeated.
Ascendance GemActivates a chance to automatically block an attack from an enemy officer.

Where To Get Pyroxene In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Pyroxene can be found scattered throughout the game's overworld, appearing as orange crystals protruding from the ground. Interacting with these crystals will yield one Pyroxene and cause the crystal to vanish. After completing a Skirmish or Battle, some of the Pyroxene in the overworld will respawn, encouraging you to revisit and explore old areas. New Pyroxene is continually emerging, providing ample opportunity for collection. Additionally, you might occasionally receive Pyroxene through letters, which you can read in your room at an Inn or tent.
