Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting roadmap for Crusader Kings III's Chapter IV, set to roll out throughout 2025, with a keen focus on expanding the game's Asian territories and introducing new mechanics for players to dive into.
The chapter begins with the recently launched cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This charming pack includes six crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, enabling players to further customize their rulers and add a touch of regal flair to their gameplay experience.
Come April 28, the first major DLC, Khans of the Steppe, will make its grand entrance. This expansion empowers players to take command of the Mongols as the Great Khan, leading a nomadic horde to conquer lands and assert dominance over neighboring territories. Prepare to embrace the life of a nomad and carve out your empire on the steppe.
Next up, in Q3 (July–September), Coronations will introduce a captivating ceremonial mechanic. Players will have the opportunity to legitimize their reign through elaborate coronation events, complete with extravagant festivities, solemn vows, and crucial decisions that shape the future of their kingdom. This DLC also brings new advisor and vassal events to enrich political interactions, adding layers of depth to royal succession.
The chapter will culminate with the massive expansion, All Under Heaven, slated for release later in the year. This expansion will unveil the entire East Asian map, featuring intricately detailed regions of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands. Players will have vast new territories to explore, conquer, and rule, opening up a wealth of new strategic and cultural experiences.
Between these major DLC releases, Paradox will continue to enhance the game with patches aimed at refining game systems and improving AI behavior. The developers are eager to incorporate player feedback to shape future updates, and the next Q&A session is scheduled for March 26, offering fans a chance to contribute to the game's ongoing development.
