Dark Fantasy RPG Partners with Bandai Namco

Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher behind Elden Ring, has partnered with Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio founded by former Witcher 3 developers, to publish their debut action RPG, Dawnwalker. This AAA title, slated for a 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox, is a story-driven dark fantasy adventure set in a medieval European landscape.

The collaboration between Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves marks a significant step for both companies. Bandai Namco secures a promising new IP for its portfolio, while Rebel Wolves gains a powerful publishing partner with a proven track record in the RPG genre. Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, highlighted the shared values and experience between the two entities, expressing excitement for bringing Dawnwalker to a global audience. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, emphasized the importance of this partnership for strengthening their Western market presence.

Dawnwalker, described as having a scope comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, boasts a non-linear narrative and offers players significant choice and replayability. The game's development is spearheaded by industry veterans, including Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz (lead quest designer on The Witcher 3) as creative director and Jakub Szamalek (long-time CD Projekt Red writer) as narrative director.
