Tracking the Black Flame in Monster Hunter Wilds

Midway through the main storyline, specifically in Chapter 3, you'll encounter the Black Flame monster in the Oilwell Basin. After it disappears, your mission is to track it down and defeat it.

Start by leaving the Base Camp and head towards Zone 9 of the region, as shown in the map screenshot below.

As you make your way to Zone 9, keep an eye out for tar tracks on the ground. Interact with these tracks, and your Hunter will pick up the Black Flame's scent, which will be automatically relayed to your scoutflies. This allows you to easily track the monster's exact location.
