The unexpected collaboration between Konami and FIFA for an esports event is a surprising twist, especially considering their long history of competition. However, it's officially happening! FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will utilize Konami's eFootball as its platform.
In-Game Qualifiers Now Live on eFootball!
This year's tournament features two divisions: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. Eighteen countries – Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey – are vying for the final spots.
Three-stage in-game qualifiers run from October 10th to 20th. Following this, National Nomination Phases for the 18 countries begin October 28th and conclude November 3rd.
The offline final round will take place late 2024; Konami has yet to announce a specific date. Even if your country isn't among the 18, you can still participate in the qualifiers until Round 3, earning rewards like 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and other bonuses.

The Unexpected FIFA x Konami Partnership
The unlikely alliance is particularly noteworthy given their past rivalry. For context, EA and FIFA ended their decade-long partnership in 2022 after FIFA demanded a significantly increased licensing fee – a staggering $1 billion every four years, a substantial increase from the previous $150 million. This led to the release of EA Sports FC 24 in 2023 without the FIFA branding. Now, FIFA has partnered with Konami's eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.
Download eFootball from the Google Play Store and participate in the current special event featuring a custom Bruno Fernandes and an 8x match experience multiplier for accelerated Dream Team progression.
