For those not in the know, it may surprise you to learn that the Epic Games Store for mobile follows its PC counterpart's example by offering free games that you can claim for a limited time. The best part? On mobile, these games are available weekly, and you get two games instead of just one!
In the last week of April, Epic Games has two fantastic titles available for free: Loop Hero and Chuchel. Regular readers might recognize Loop Hero as it's one of our top favorites here at Pocket Gamer. Jack gave it a glowing review, praising its engaging roguelike experience. If you're only going to play one of these games, make sure it's Loop Hero.
But what exactly is Chuchel? This surreal animated adventure follows the titular character, Chuchel, in his quest to reclaim his stolen cherry. Along the way, he and his rival Kekel find themselves in all sorts of hilarious and bizarre situations that you'll either need to navigate or simply watch unfold.
Chuchel might have been a bit confusing for some, but our App Army found it to be a fun experience upon its release. Even if it's not your usual type of game, you can't argue with the price—totally free. On the other hand, Loop Hero is highly recommended for its challenging gameplay and stunning pixel art visuals.
The Epic Games Store for mobile offers many of the same benefits as its PC version, including these free game releases and access to popular titles like Fortnite, which are otherwise unavailable on mobile.
Looking to expand your gaming horizons a bit more? Check out our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week, featuring the best launches from the last seven days.
