Forspoken, despite its free PS Plus release, continues to spark heated debate among players nearly a year after its launch.

While some PS Plus subscribers are praising the game, echoing sentiments of those who purchased it at full price, others abandoned it after just a few hours. Negative feedback frequently cites the "ridiculous dialogue" and weak storyline as major drawbacks. Although many appreciate the combat, parkour mechanics, and exploration aspects, the consensus suggests that engaging with the narrative renders the experience significantly less enjoyable.

The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions, which included Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers, initially generated positive buzz. However, it seems the free availability hasn't revitalized Forspoken's reception; its inconsistent quality remains a significant hurdle.

The game follows Frey, a young woman transported from New York City to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. Armed with newfound magical abilities, she must navigate this expansive world, battle formidable creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tants, all in a desperate attempt to return home.
