Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Hermit's Sword Guide

To gain entry to the Semine wedding, you'll need to navigate a few quests. If you're following the blacksmith's questline in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, here's a complete guide to the Hermit quest.

How to Start the Hermit Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The Hermit quest unlocks automatically as you progress through blacksmith Radovan's quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After retrieving the lost cart, return to Radovan. He'll then reveal his plan to forge a wedding gift—a sword—thus initiating the Hermit questline. Before confronting the hermit, you must gather information from the villagers in Troskowitz.

Get Information About the Hermit

First, visit the Troskowitz tavern and speak with Innkeeper Betty, exhausting all dialogue options. Afterward, talk to other villagers to gather more clues. In my playthrough, I spoke with the alehouse maid and the general trader.

Talk to Gerda and Stanislav

Next, speak with Gerda in Troskowitz; she witnessed a relevant event. You can either pay her a small sum of Groschen or attempt a dialogue check to obtain information.

Then, head to Apollonia and speak with Stanislav. Again, you can either pay him or attempt a dialogue check.

Gather Evidence

With the information gathered, it's time to find physical evidence. Locate the cross Gerda mentioned and dig up the grave (you'll need a spade; purchase one from the Troskowitz trader or find one in a cemetery). You'll uncover Groschen and documents relating to the Knights of the Cross.

Examine the documents, then proceed to the quest marker in Apollonia. You'll find a hut and a clearing with a black horse; examine the horse for your next clue.

Talk to the Hermit

Head to the hermit's hut and speak with him. Without evidence, he won't be cooperative. Once you present your findings, he'll become more forthcoming.

Choose these dialogue options:

• “You’re suspicious.” Exhaust all dialogue options concerning the clues and evidence.
• “Out with it!”

The hermit will reveal his true identity as Konrad. Before giving up the sword, he instructs you to speak with a widow named Margaret and deliver a cross to her.

Go to the cemetery near Apollonia, speak with Margaret, and give her the cross. This starts the Sinful Soul quest (optional; you can return to Konrad immediately).

Help Konrad or Kill Him

Approaching the hermit's hut, you'll find Crusaders. You can choose to help them kill Konrad or help Konrad escape.

If you approach the hut stealthily, Konrad will talk. Tell him you completed the quest and ask about the sword. You can then choose to help or kill him. Killing Konrad is easier, especially with the Crusaders and Mutt assisting.

After killing him, speak with the Crusaders and offer to return the documents for Groschen.

Get the Hermit’s Sword

North of the hermit's hut, find two entangled oak trees. The hermit's sword is stuck in the ground. Take it and return to Radovan in Tachov to complete the quest.
