Krysten Ritter Confirmed for Jessica Jones Role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter will officially reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The exciting news was unveiled during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. This announcement comes after months of speculation and rumors about potential reunions of the Netflix Defenders within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter joined Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm about returning to the role of the hard-hitting private investigator. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

The character's journey continued through two more seasons and the team-up series The Defenders. However, as Netflix's involvement with original Marvel content began to wane, fans worried they might never see Ritter as Jessica Jones again.

The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain Marvel characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, speculation grew about the potential return of other Netflix heroes. With the Punisher playing a key role in Season 1, it's fitting that Ritter is set to return for Season 2.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which debuted in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at a promising future for the character within the MCU. While a release date for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has not been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that fans can expect new episodes in March 2026.
