Lara Croft Arrives in Dead by Daylight

Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the ranks of Dead by Daylight survivors, Behaviour Interactive has announced! Speculation has finally been confirmed: one of gaming's most celebrated adventurers is entering the Entity's Realm. This exciting addition follows the recent inclusion of Vecna (from Stranger Things) and arrives just over a month after Chapter 32: Dungeons & Dragons.

Dead by Daylight's latest chapter features Lara Croft, designed after her appearance in the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot. The Behaviour team calls her "the ultimate survivor," a fitting title given her history of daring escapades. While an official release date of July 16th has been set across all platforms, PC players on Steam can enjoy early access via a public test build. A gameplay trailer showcasing Lara's unique skills and perks is yet to be released.

Behaviour Interactive's 8th-anniversary livestream also revealed other exciting additions to Dead by Daylight: a new 2v8 mode, a Quarry developer spin-off featuring Frank Stone, and a Castlevania chapter later this year.

The timing is perfect, as Aspyr recently released a remastered collection of the original Tomb Raider trilogy (1-3), and Tomb Raider: Legend received a PS5 port (though reception has been mixed). Lara's popularity continues to surge, with a new animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, slated for October 2024, featuring Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter from the MCU) as Lara's voice.
