Larian Reveals Exciting New Subclasses for Baldur

While many fans believed Patch 7 would mark the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has exciting news: another substantial update is on the horizon for 2025. This upcoming patch promises to enhance the gaming experience with the introduction of crossplay support and a photo mode, along with a significant addition of 12 new subclasses, each bringing unique mechanics to enrich your gameplay.

Let's delve into the details of the remaining four subclasses that have been unveiled:

Oath of the Crown Paladin: This subclass is dedicated to upholding justice and order, prioritizing the welfare of society above all. The Oath of the Crown Paladin harnesses the power of Divine Devotion, a unique ability that not only absorbs incoming damage directed at allies but also restores their health, making them a formidable protector on the battlefield.

Arcane Archer: Blending martial skill with arcane magic, the Arcane Archer offers a dynamic combat style. Their enchanted arrows possess the power to blind, weaken, or even exile enemies to the Feywild until the next turn. If an arrow misses its mark, the Arcane Archer can redirect its path to hit another foe, ensuring that no shot goes to waste.

Drunken Master Monk: Embracing the unconventional, the Drunken Master Monk integrates alcohol into their combat techniques. Their signature move intoxicates enemies, leaving them disoriented and vulnerable while simultaneously enhancing the monk's own abilities. The use of Instant Sobriety on an intoxicated target inflicts both physical and mental damage, adding a strategic layer to battles.

Swarmkeeper Ranger: By forging alliances with swarms of creatures, the Swarmkeeper Ranger taps into the raw power of nature. These swarms not only shield the ranger from harm but also facilitate teleportation, providing tactical advantages. In combat, the ranger can summon three distinct types of swarms: electric jellyfish clusters to shock opponents, blinding moth clouds to obscure vision, and stinging bee legions that can knock back enemies failing a strength check by 4.5 meters, adding a versatile element to their arsenal.

Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to explore these new dimensions of gameplay in Baldur's Gate 3 with the 2025 update.
