Capcom's latest addition to Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a novel feature that lets players customize the appearances of their hunters and Palicos. The initial customization is complimentary, but any subsequent tweaks demand the purchase of Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers come in packs of three for $6 or as a bundled set for both characters at $10. Without these vouchers, players are limited to altering hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing, with no option to change core facial features.

Surprisingly, this monetization strategy was not revealed during the game's early previews prior to its full release. It was only last week that Capcom shared this information through their social media platforms. Despite the controversy over microtransactions and some performance hiccups, Monster Hunter Wilds achieved a remarkable milestone, boasting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at launch.
Capcom has not yet responded to the community's feedback on this new system. Players have voiced their discontent with the paid customization model, drawing unfavorable comparisons to earlier games in the series where such changes were either free or could be earned through in-game currency. Many fans argue that this move detracts from what was traditionally seen as a core aspect of the franchise.
