Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling over 8 million units in just three days, making it Capcom's fastest-selling game to date. This impressive feat comes despite the presence of some bugs within the game. Dive in to discover more about Capcom's record-breaking success and the latest updates on Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has swiftly claimed the title of Capcom's fastest-selling game, amassing over 8 million units sold within three days of its release. Capcom proudly announced this achievement on their official website, marking a historic milestone for the company.
The game's success is further highlighted by its performance on Steam, where it achieved over 1.3 million concurrent players shortly after launch, as reported by SteamDB. Despite garnering mixed reviews, the game's popularity is undeniable. Capcom credits this success to extensive promotional efforts, including global video game event appearances and an open beta test that allowed players to experience the game firsthand.
In response to player feedback, Capcom has released a critical update for Monster Hunter Wilds. On March 4, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced via Twitter (X) that the hot fix patch, Ver.1.000.04.00, is now available across all platforms.
This update tackles several bugs that previously hindered player progression. Key fixes include resolving issues with the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features not unlocking when criteria are met, fixing access to the Monster Field Guide, and addressing a game-breaking bug that blocked story progression in Chapter 5-2 "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are required to update the game to continue enjoying online play.
However, not all issues have been resolved in this patch. Some bugs remain, such as a network error triggered when players use an SOS flare after starting a quest, and Palico's blunt weapon attacks not causing stun and exhaust damage. These multiplayer-related issues are expected to be addressed in future updates.
