Attention all Death Stranding enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting update! The much-anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is slated for release in June, and the franchise's iconic star, actor Norman Reedus, has recently shared intriguing details about the game and a future film adaptation during an interview with IGN.
When questioned about the possibility of reprising his role in the film version of the game, which was announced to be in development by Michael Sarnoski and A24 last month, Reedus expressed his enthusiasm: “If it was an option, yeah, for sure,” he stated. “I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course.”
We also delved into Reedus's understanding of the first game and whether he felt similarly about the upcoming sequel. He expressed deep trust in the game's creator, Hideo Kojima, acknowledging Kojima's unique and visionary approach: “As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at,” Reedus said. “He’s just that guy, he’s out there and he’s got great ideas. But story-wise, I did know what was happening more. There’s more action in it, there’s more of a definite goal to get to.”
Despite the complexities and intricacies of the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains thrilled to be part of the journey: “It’s always a trip working on those things,” he shared with IGN. “It’s great, but it’s wild.”
Mark your calendars, as Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to launch on June 26, 2025.
