Rockstar Releases Anniversary Update for Bully After Six Years

Rockstar, the creators behind the iconic GTA series, have released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update marks a significant refresh for the game, available exclusively on mobile platforms and not on console or PC.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition now boasts updated languages and focuses on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to streamline the gaming experience.

For Android users with compatible devices, the update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhances the app icon, and adds haptic feedback for both Android and iOS platforms.

Several missions have been revamped to improve gameplay. For instance, 'That Bitch' now allows players to successfully pick Mandy’s locker, while 'Weed Killer' progresses correctly even if you break the window prematurely. The notorious issue with police cars falling through the floor during 'The Rumble' mission has been resolved. Additionally, the update addresses glitches where enemies would not engage Jimmy, leading to unbalanced combat, and fixes crashes that occurred when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The gaming community has been vocal about their desire for Bully 2, yet Rockstar appears focused on other projects. There were rumors of a sequel in the works during the 2010s, but it was reportedly abandoned in favor of developing Red Dead Redemption 2 and expanding GTA Online.

With GTA 6 now in development, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, particularly given that many original team members have departed from Rockstar. While the new update for Bully: Anniversary Edition isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it provides a meaningful upgrade for mobile gamers.

For those new to the series, Bully offers a unique take on the schoolyard sandbox genre, where you control Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy, infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.

You can experience Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, complete with full gamepad support.
