My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket ebbs and flows, with my engagement peaking whenever a new set is released. I dive in deep, playing intensely to earn Emblems by securing around 40 wins. Once that goal is met, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening my packs, and enjoying a casual Wonder Pick before moving on with my day. This cycle is set to reignite with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, on March 27th.
Shining Revelry is bringing 110 new cards into the mix, including a variety of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and the stunning art cards that fans adore. The highlight of this expansion, hinted at by its name, is the introduction of Shiny Pokemon! These are unique, differently colored versions of our beloved creatures. For instance, you'll find Lucario in a striking yellow instead of its usual blue, and Pachirisu flaunting a charming pink stripe.
The trailer for Shining Revelry teases us with what's to come, and it's worth a watch. A standout card is the new Shiny Charizard Ex, boasting 180 HP and an attack called Steam Artillery that unleashes a massive 150 damage. The caveat? It demands a hefty five energy. However, its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy at once, making it a strategic powerhouse.
Another exciting addition is the new Ex version of Lucario. Previously more of a support player in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is ready for frontline combat. With 150 HP and an Aura Sphere attack that inflicts 100 damage for three Fighting Energy, it also hits an opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30, making it a versatile choice.
The trailer also showcases other cards that, while not game-changers, are visually impressive and fun to collect. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on their way, looking absolutely fabulous. Additionally, there's a breathtaking Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.
Pokemon TCG Pocket is readily available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases available. If you're interested, you can easily download it for your preferred platform using the links provided below.
