According to Variety, the acclaimed co-op action adventure game, Split Fiction, is set to be adapted into a film. The report indicates that multiple top Hollywood studios have expressed interest, prompting a package deal to be assembled by Story Kitchen, a media company renowned for its expertise in adapting games and other non-traditional properties into films and TV shows. The same team at Story Kitchen, previously known as dj2 Entertainment, successfully managed the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight Studios' earlier hit, It Takes Two. Their portfolio also boasts the Sonic the Hedgehog films and Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft series. At this point, further details about the Split Fiction movie remain under wraps.
Adding to the excitement, Split Fiction achieved remarkable sales, surpassing two million copies sold within its first week on the market. IGN's review praised the game as an unmissable co-op adventure that remains fabulously fresh throughout its entire 14-hour playtime.
In other news, Hazelight's director Josef Fares recently announced that the studio has already begun development on their next project, continuing their legacy of innovative gaming experiences.
