"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"

Akatsuki Games has recently announced the end of service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine, which is hard to believe considering it was released just a few months ago in February across Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. Let's dive into the details of its unexpected shutdown.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine is set to officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not see the light of day. This is particularly disappointing as the game had just begun to tease what was coming next. As of May 15th, all planned updates, new features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. This means that any previously mentioned adjustments or new features are no longer on the table.

Additionally, two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the game's roster, will not be added. Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items such as Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio, with refunds starting after the Revenio contract expires.

Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes have been halted through both the app and web store. However, players can continue using their existing Enigma Entities until the game's official shutdown.

Why Did It Fail So Soon?

Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG that boasts a unique style and rich worldbuilding. Despite being a commendable game, it faced challenges from the start. The game suffered from a slow release schedule, offering only one story chapter and one event over the first three months. Moreover, the game's monetization model didn't incentivize spending, as players could build a strong team with just one pull and didn't need duplicates, which was beneficial for players but detrimental to the developers' revenue.

It appears that adopting a gacha system was a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it didn't yield the expected results. Nevertheless, the game remains playable until November 27th, so if you haven't tried it yet, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
