Kazuma Kaneko, the iconic designer renowned for his work on Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Devil Summoner, is making a triumphant return with an innovative project titled Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter. Developed by COLOPL, this roguelike deck-building game is set to launch on PC, iOS, and Android, bringing together Kaneko's distinctive dark, mythological aesthetic with strategic card-based combat.
Set in a futuristic Tokyo Bay, Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter unfolds within The Hashira, a towering high-rise transformed into a sealed-off battleground. This vertical dungeon is now home to enigmatic beings known as gods and demons. Players will take on the role of an elite national defense force member from the Tsukuyomi unit, tasked with ascending to the top floor to eliminate a formidable target.
Fans of Kaneko’s previous works will recognize the game's setting, which masterfully intertwines urban decay with supernatural horror, crafting an atmosphere that is both eerie and tense. The blend of mythology and cyberpunk themes will immerse players in a unique and captivating world when Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter releases later this year.
As a roguelike card game, Tsukuyomi challenges players to construct a deck of potent abilities while navigating a dungeon that constantly shifts and evolves. Each playthrough offers different cards, layouts, and enemy encounters, ensuring no two runs are the same.

Combat in Tsukuyomi is fast-paced and turn-based, requiring players to make strategic choices with each action. Every turn presents a single action opportunity, which can be an attack or a defense move. Quick thinking and precise decision-making are crucial for success in these battles.
While exploring the dungeon, players will encounter branching paths and significant choices that will influence their journey. These decisions have lasting effects on battles and available resources. True to the roguelike genre, failure is harsh - losing a fight means losing all progress and starting over from the beginning, emphasizing the importance of careful planning.
Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is slated for release around June 30th, though this date may be subject to change. Interested players can pre-register by clicking on their preferred link below.
