Ubisoft's popular hacker-themed series, Watch Dogs, is expanding its reach to mobile devices! However, it's not quite the mobile game you might anticipate. Instead of a traditional mobile port, Ubisoft has launched Watch Dogs: Truth, an interactive audio adventure exclusively on Audible.
Players will shape the narrative by making crucial decisions that guide DedSec's next move. This choose-your-own-adventure style experience transports listeners to a near-future London, where DedSec confronts a new threat. The ever-helpful AI, Bagley, assists players in navigating these choices.
This format, reminiscent of classic choose-your-own-adventure books, offers a unique take on the Watch Dogs franchise. Interestingly, the game's release on Audible coincides with the approximate age of the Clash of Clans franchise.
While the mobile debut takes an unexpected form, the concept of an audio adventure is intriguing. The relatively low-key marketing surrounding Watch Dogs: Truth is noteworthy, but its reception will undoubtedly be closely monitored. Will this innovative approach resonate with fans? Only time will tell.
