In a recent development update from The Chinese Room, fans of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 have been given a fascinating glimpse into the world of vampire hunters. This faction, known as the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB), operates covertly, relying on a shadow budget due to a lack of official government support. Their mission is to hunt down vampires, whom they refer to as "Hollow Ones," under the guise of conducting "training exercises" and "counter-terrorism efforts."

At the helm of the IAB's operations in Seattle is Agent Baker, a disciplined pragmatist committed to the permanent eradication of vampires. Known as "The Hen" among her followers due to her unwavering authority, Baker meticulously investigates strange occurrences and delves into historical data to uncover the connections to the hidden vampire society.

The hunters of the IAB are a formidable force, operating with precision and coordination. They maintain tight security around their base, employing both external and internal defenses. Confronting them alone is a daunting task, as they work in teams, use spotlights for surveillance, and communicate via portable radios. In combat, they wield thermic batons that can bypass defensive maneuvers, and they deploy phosphorous grenades to flush enemies out of hiding. Their sniper crossbows are equipped with explosive bolts, causing devastating damage if not quickly removed.

Despite their prowess, these hunters have vulnerabilities. They are physically weaker than both ghouls and vampires, making them susceptible to certain countermeasures. For instance, players with the Fire skill can catch grenades or bolts mid-flight and hurl them back at the hunters. Additionally, those wielding the Ventru clan's powers can possess an enemy, turning them against their own team.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is set to launch in the first half of 2025, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, promising an immersive experience filled with strategic encounters against the IAB hunters.
