The popular Reclaimer 18 shotgun has been temporarily removed from Call of Duty: Warzone. The official Call of Duty announcement offered little explanation, leaving players to speculate on the reasons behind this sudden, albeit temporary, deactivation.
Warzone boasts an extensive arsenal, encompassing hundreds of weapons from various Call of Duty titles, including the recent Black Ops 6. This vast selection presents balancing and technical challenges, particularly when integrating weapons originally designed for different games (like Modern Warfare 3) into Warzone's environment. Maintaining balance and stability across this diverse weapon pool is a constant task for the developers.
The Reclaimer 18, a semi-automatic shotgun inspired by the SPAS-12, is the latest weapon affected. Its removal, effective immediately, is unexplained, with no official timeframe given for its return.
The Reclaimer 18's Unexpected Absence
The lack of explanation has fueled player speculation, focusing on a potentially "glitched" blueprint, "Inside Voices," which some claim exhibits unusually high lethality. Videos and screenshots circulating online appear to support these claims.
Player reactions are mixed. Many applaud the developers' proactive approach to addressing potential imbalances, suggesting a temporary removal is preferable to a permanently overpowered weapon. Some even advocate for a review of the JAK Devastators aftermarket parts, which allow dual-wielding of the Reclaimer 18, creating a powerful, albeit potentially frustrating, combat build reminiscent of past "akimbo shotgun" metas.
However, others express disappointment, arguing the deactivation is overdue. The "Inside Voices" blueprint's exclusivity to a paid Tracer Pack, they contend, inadvertently created a "pay-to-win" scenario, highlighting the need for more thorough testing before releasing such content.
