Ndemic Creations launched After Inc on November 28, 2024 at an accessible $2 price point, though founder James Vaughn admitted concerns about this pricing strategy in an interview with Game File. As the spiritual successor to Plague Inc, After Inc presents a more hopeful scenario where humanity emerges from bunkers decades after the Necroa Virus pandemic.

Despite the studio's reservations about competing against free-to-play titles riddled with microtransactions, Vaughn explained their decision: "Our existing successes with Plague Inc and Rebel Inc give us the confidence to try premium pricing. Without this legacy, even exceptional games would struggle for visibility in today's mobile market."

After Inc In-Game Settlement Building

The developer guarantees no repeat purchases - all content expansions are permanent unlocks. The App Store listing explicitly states: "No consumable microtransactions" and promises "Expansion Packs are buy once, play forever."

Currently ranking #5 among paid games on the App Store (trailing Plague Inc and Stardew Valley) with a 4.77/5 Google Play rating, After Inc shows promising reception. An early access PC version, After Inc: Revival, is slated for 2025 Steam release.

After Inc Post-Apocalyptic World

This "mini" 4X strategy-sim hybrid tasks players with reconstructing society across the UK's ruins after the viral apocalypse. Scavenging materials like wood and scrap metal enables settlement expansion, while maintaining farms and essential services ensures citizen welfare.

Players select from five leaders (expanding to ten in the Steam version), each with unique abilities to guide their communities. Though zombies still roam, Vaughn assures players: "Everything's solvable with nails in a cricket bat!" - encouraging creative survival solutions.
