Insomniac Games Eyes More Game-to-Screen Adaptations Following CEO's Retirement

Ratchet and Clank 2nd Movie Considered by Insomniac GamesInsomniac Games, renowned for the Ratchet & Clank franchise, has signaled its keen interest in further game-to-screen adaptations. This announcement follows the retirement of founder and long-time CEO Ted Price, as revealed in a recent interview with Variety.

Co-Studio Head Ryan Schneider expressed the studio's enthusiasm for this avenue, referencing the 2016 Ratchet & Clank film. While the film received mixed reviews, Insomniac's confidence has been bolstered by Sony's recent successes in video game adaptations, particularly the critically acclaimed The Last of Us series. The acquisition of Insomniac by Sony in 2019 further solidified this strategic direction.

"We kind of got an early start on [the Ratchet and Clank film]. So, of course, we’re interested in that kind of thing. We love Ratchet and Clank in particular," Schneider stated.
